The Ministry of the Interior on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 met at a workshop to review activities undertaken by the Sector during the first half year of 2018.
The one-day workshop, which had representation from all the Agencies under the Ministry was also to ensure that the Ministry remained on track in achieving its targets for the year by looking at ways to address the challenges encountered and to find strategic ways of mitigating them to improve on the Sector’s Performance.
In a speech read on his behalf by the Deputy Minister for the Interior, Hon. Henry Quartey at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Ambrose Dery, expressed his appreciation to the Deputy Minister for the Interior, Directors and Heads of Agencies and staff for their enormous support so far and urged them to continue to put up their best.
“I urge you all to continue to put up your best so that together we effectively achieve the vision of His Excellency the President’s “Ghana beyond Aid”. He said.
The Minister used the occasion to admonish heads of security agencies to ensure that personnel execute their work in a professional manner.
According to him, the attitudes of some personnel in the Police Service in recent times have attracted negative reportage thus the need for more and continuous training for personnel to enable them exhibit professionalism and eschew negative attitudes in the discharge of their duties.
To this end, he charged agencies heads to ensure that disciplinary processes initiated are pursued to their logical conclusion and appropriate sanctions imposed.
