Twenty (20) Fire Officers who left Ghana for Malta to pursue an upgrading programme have returned to Ghana after their training. The Officers who were drawn from the sixteen (16) Regions of Ghana and made up of ten (10) male and female each were taken through Operational, Fire Safety and Investigation courses. This training is expected to improve their operational effectiveness in the discharge of their duties.

This programme is an arrangement between the Maltese Embassy and the Ghana National Fire Service and aimed at equipping personnel of the Service with more effective fire management skills.

This forms part of the Chief Fire Officer’s vision to transform the Service into a world class Service and to enable as to adopt world class practices in our Operations.

The Chief Fire Officer, Edwin Ekow Blankson and the entire Management of the Ghana National Fire Service wishes to express their profound gratitude to the Minister of the Interior, Hon. Ambrose Dery for his enormous support as well as the Maltese Ambassador to Ghana, Mr. Jean Claude Malia Galea for the opportunity granted to the Service.

This arrangement promises to be a lasting one as the next batch of Officers are scheduled to take off in September, 2019.
