The Hon. Minister for the Interior, Ambrose Dery commended the Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service, Mr. Kwame Asuah Takyi for his hardwork and initiatives.

The Minister said this during a short handing over ceremony of two separate self-contained houses the GIS bought from State Housing Company Limited to accommodate their Officers in Wa in the Upper West Region.

Hon. Ambrose Dery assured GIS that Government will continue to augment the infrastructure, training and human resource needs of GIS and the security services in general.

He added that necessary measures are being put in place to ensure that the Officers due promotion are promoted on time to boost their morale for efficient and effective delivery of their services.

He urged the Officers to be disciplined, patient, hardworking and discharge their duties professionally to the benefit of mother Ghana. He also appealed to land-lords and land-ladies to be vigilant and wary of those who come to rent their houses and report any suspicious behavior of the tenants to the security agencies to avoid any security threat to the country.

The Comptroller-General expressed his gratitude to the Government and said he will continue to do his best to uplift the good image of the Service and ensure that the needs of the Officers are met to motivate them to continue rendering good services to the public.
