The National Peace Council (NPC) has organized a one-day dialogue in Accra on the theme, Building Strong Relationship between NPC and the Regional Peace Council (RPC) for Sustainable Peace in Ghana, to take stock of its activities and develop strategies to enhance peace in the country.
Addressing participants, Mrs Adelaide Anno-Kumi, Chief Director for the Ministry of the Interior, commended the NPC for their continuous role in contributing to the peaceful resolution of conflicts, particularly, chieftaincy and political-related ones in the country.
She said considering the difficult times the country is facing due to several factors, NPC should put necessary measures in place to realise its mandate and targets. She added that the Council should fashion out its activities according to law, policy and administrative regulations to ensure that all Board members, as well as staff, come on board in their quest to seek total peace in Ghana.
The Chairman of the meeting, Nana Professor S.K.B. Asante, who is also a Board member of NPC, urged members to bring their experiences to bear to ensure the sustenance of peace in the country.
