His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, by Articles 91 and 202 of the 1992 Constitution, swore in the new Inspector General of Police, Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, at the Jubilee House in Accra.
President Mahama congratulated him on his appointment and urged him to lead with humility, integrity and discipline, ensuring that officers carry out their duties professionally to achieve the Service’s mandate.
Mr. Yohuno expressed his gratitude to the President for the elevation to the pinnacle of his career. He assured the President and the people of Ghana that he takes the appointment seriously and will uphold the values of service, respect, discipline and transparency to ensure security in the country.
As the new Inspector General of Police, Mr. Yohuno brings 40 years of experience to the position and is expected to oversee the modernization and transformation of the Ghana Police Service.
Present at the ceremony were H.E. the Vice President, Hon. Chief of Staff, Hon. Minister for the Interior, Hon. Minister of Defence and some Government Officials.
